STORY BOARD
A storyboard is a graphic representation of images or illustrations with notes, which gives an idea of how a motion picture, motion graphics, animation or an interactive media sequence will unfold.
ANIMATICS
Animatics is a rough draft of film, where successive images and sketches are played on an editing program to see if the intended meaning of the film is conveyed. It’s basically an animated storyboard but includes basic sound effects, dialogue recordings and scratch soundtrack.
CLASSICAL ANIMATION
Classical animation, also known as cel animation, is a technique in which each frame is hand-drawn on paper. This technique was mostly used throughout the 20th century until computer animation came into being.
FLIPBOOKS
A flipbook is a book with a series of key frames (pictures) that change gradually from one page to the next. When the pages of the book are “flipped” rapidly, the pictures appear to be in motion.
STOP MOTION
It is an animated technique used to bring static objects to life on screen. This is achieved by moving the frames in increments (a frame per increment) so that when all the frames are played in sequence it creates the illusion of a movement.
CUT-OUT
Cut-out animation involves producing animation using flat characters, props and backgrounds cut from materials such as paper, cards, fabric or even photographs. The cut props are then used as puppets for stop motion.
TRADITIONAL ANIMATION
Traditional animation refers to animation drawn on paper. An animator draws the characters along with background and layout on paper. Each drawing in the animation is slightly different than the one before and after it, creating an illusion of movement when in motion.
